where should I mount it?

bought this as the switch for my spots and was wondering where to mount it. the round bit is about the same size as the idiot lights. Was wondering if there is room inside the box for the square bit

I recently mounted a cigarette lighter socket on my 2007 TransAlp. I bought a small black electric box from a hardware store and installed the socket inside. Then via a small aluminum bracket I made I attached it to one of the mounting screws on the steering that hold the wiring/brake cable brackets. In the end the box was perfectly placed next to my ignition. Maybe something like this could work well for your problem. It'll be easy to reach and should'nt be in your way.

I've seen guys mount similar boxes with switches/sockets on the left of the "Light Panel" on the dash of the Africa Twin. Thats the one with your indicators, side stand, etc lights in. There's sufficient space and if done correctly can look not only good but relatively stock.

But you'll have to consider how you want to run the wiring first and then just find a suitable place for it.
