The MT21 is still a bit of a compomise tyre, slightly better off than the TKC, but not as good on. For full on off use, whilst remaining road legal, I use a Michelin T63 rear, and a Enduro Comp 4 or Metz. 6 days extreme on the front. The pair will last about 2000 miles, but they're good miles! .

    Re: tyres

Off road Pirelli MT21s, on road Metzeler Tourance - not tried Conti TKC80s ( so not offering an opinion as I have not tried them ). Lots of others tried and the only ones I really disliked were Michelin T66s which were pant crapping bad in the wet - someone will now come along and claim the T66 as the best ever wet road tyre.

    Re: tyres

Conti escapes are excellent tyres both dry and wet on road (not too good when the going gets muddy) ---but i cant seem to get anymore than 4000 miles out of a back

    Peter

A good place to start is the forum's very own tyre poll here...

    *NEW* Tyre Poll

Whilst looking at that I'd reflect on how happy you've been with your current set of tyres. Have you used them on-road, off-road, or both? Do you intend to change where or how you ride?

If you settle for what you know and end up wanting another set of TKC80's, a forum member djadams has them for sale here...
