    Who bought a new @

Just wondering if many of you bought an @ new?

If so what did they cost and what extra's did they offer from new?

People in the day must have stared and marvelled at it (before trying to pinch it).

I saw one in NZ many years ago, and used to follow it visually til it was long round the corner and gone... Strange they werent released in NZ or Australia either, perfect countries for em.

Re: Who bought a new @

I bought mine new in 2003 for £5000. It was a French parallel import, so it would be below UK list price anyway. Dunno what the last list price was for an AT, but as a guide the Transalp has always sold for somewhere around £5200.

For my 5K I got a Meta alarm and a Scottoiler touring kit (not fitted), plus the second service (on top of the usual 1st service) free of labour. And registered with 6 months tax, of course.

The last new one I bought was £6250 after discount in march 2003.I think the list price at that time was £6800 ? ( that bike did 70000mls with only one rad hose, one f/pump failure !!!) I just last week had one for sale on ebay but it didn't meet the starting price so I have decided to do the right thing ? keep it !!!

Re: Who bought a new @

I bought a new black one in 98 for £4700 - then added the correct UK headlights and centrestand for another £160. Kept it for 9 years and sold it for £1600 with 65000 miles on it. If it had been low mileage then I may have got a bit more for it - but then I buy bikes to ride them NOT clean and polish them. If Honda were still making ATs I would probably have bought a new one rather than build one from spares parts! The AT has been a constant in the garage as others have come and gone in much quicker time and often with very little regret.

Interesting to see that a lot of previous owners do come back to the AT.
