Right, I have a Touratech seat on the @ and am bl@@dy annoyed by it.
First thing is that it lets water in like no-one's business then it drips it down my leg when I sit on it. It s gotten so bad that I now take the seat off at night and leave it in the house next to the radiator to dry out/stop it getting wet in the first place.
Next is that after about 100 miles or so my posterior is numb.
So problem one should be soon resolved as I intend to take the cover off, seam seal the seams with the stuff used on tents and then I'm going to 'pre-cover' the thing with this really soft but incredibly strong plastic wrapping stuff we have at work, (we all use it waterproof the stuff in our belt-kit/bergans as it really takes a beating before it holes but it's stretchy and easy to work with). The cover will then go back on again and all should be well from a water-proofing angle.
Now then, comfort - I'm not shelling out a fortune for gel-pads as the price of the things is ludicrous for what they are. But, my daughter wanted a space-foam type pillow for her bed, which I bought her. She hates it and wont sleep on it, so I'm thinking - has anyone tried cutting/shaping this space-foam type stuff (we're talking 'Tempur Mattress' type stuff) and filling their seat with it? If so, how does it take to being shaped and what did you use to glue it?
This way I can kill 2 birds with one enormos rock...........
