Forks are Go !!!. Thanks Pezz mate, cant say it enough !!!!
Well it was off to Dr Pezz's Skunkworks today to fit the new front end.
This one came off
The Dr at work
Tope triple clamp off
And a forkless AT
New forks in !!!!
:evil :freaky :clap :thumbup
Thanks to Pezz's great measuring and organising the machining of the CR stem it all went together painlessly. then it was the fiddly stuff, relocating the ignition switch, fitting up the KTM front guard that Ozimick donated to the cause, thanks again mate !!!!. Fitting the pushbike speedo sensor etc etc.
Pezz, a true artist at work making brackets and spacers
OldDog popped in and was a great help getting all the brackets made and fitted up
Then it was the test ride, woohoo, feels good, different but good, it will take a while to get used to it. the forks feel very stiff just sitting on the bike but feel supple to ride so far. The single 320mm disc feels like it's going to have plenty of power once it all beds in.
The it was time for a celebratory beer from the Advrider stubby coolers
Thanks to all those who helped make this happen, I hope I can return the favour one day !!!!. Pezz, Ozimick, OldDog, Malcom, it's great to have mates !!!!

FANTASTICHOWS IT FEEL ????
Despacio. Hay m'as tiempo que vida
Different !!!, it's hard to say, ive ridden it about 25km home. Still bedding the newly rebuilt forks and the brakes and getting used to the knobby tyre.
still a few things to sort out, got the CR master cylinder on at the moment so no front brake light or right hand mirror mount. Got to hunt arond for a Dommie /'XR600/transalp 600 one to fit up. The CR front wheel has pretty small spokes and a narrower rim than the AT, 1.6" Vs 1.85" so I want to get another beefier wheel built up as well.
very good, Bravo![]()
bloody good work!
Nice one Greg, it looks a neat job. Any plans on the paintwork?
cheers, Bob.

As you can tell Im not a worrier about cosmetics, I just spend money on the mechanicals. I always figure I do so much dirt that if I make it look nice It will just get scratched again.
We'll see, Ive got some thoughts about repainting the bike late next year after I come back from a 2 month outback trip, my riding buddies would have a heart attack if I turned up on a good looking bike
weve made the guard a bit higher than normal so hopefully it wont clog up to easily
a few more detail shots of Dr Pezz's handiwork
