At long last I'm putting together my bike after having it in bits cleaning it up and got the engine bars I've had sitting in a box in my living room for the last couple of months put on.

Was a bit fiddly holding the pieces in place, but I managed to get them fitted in about an hour. It was dark by the time I'd got them on (working by the light of a halogen security light which isn't so great) so didn't notice that the bottom U bolt and front plate look a bit off center. Had a closer look in daylight and it appears that the bottom U bolt won't push any further to the left to center it because the downpipe is in the way. I think I might have bent the u-bolt slightly doing the bolts up and been a little heavy handed (haven't taken it out yet to check and it's a bit hard to tell looking at it in place), so not sure if that could be part of the problem and i need a new U bolt.

I notice that the gap between the bars and the tank/fairing on the left of the bike is a bit closer than on the right (not by a massive amount and I can still get the fairing in but there's not so much room to spare).

Anyone else with these bars on an RD04 have the same, or I have I done something wrong?

Looking at this photo (used all over to advertise the bars):

They look a little to the right there on the bottom bolt as well, but not sure if that's the case or it's a trick of the perspective (also it's a different model bike - mines an RD04).

Probably being a bit paranoid about it but I don't want to cause any problem with the bike frame by them being fitted incorrectly. Also not sure if it'll cause a problem if the u bolt touches the exaust?

I won't have caused any damage to the frame if I've tightened the bolts a bit too much will I (tried not to do that and didn't put a massive amount of pressure on but I was doing it without a torque wrench and I've noticed its a bit easier to overtighten things when using coppaslip - which I've only just started using).

Did a search but couldn't find it being discussed elsewhere, so maybe I've gone wrong somewhere?
