    Heading fairing.

    Hi,

I own a RD07 but recently when I went to purchase a windscreen for my A twin, I realised that it was totally different. Apparently my A twin's front cowl is different compared to all the other RD07's. Others happen to have a different shape to mount the screen on, and one distinct difference is theirs have a sort of air scoop above the headlights, could mine be a RD03 head cowl on an RD07?

    Cheers!

Post some photos if you can, shouldn't take much to work out.

Then you can sell that screen to someone else

The best way is to either look at the Picture Gallery, or post some pics up to work out what fairing you have.

Are you sure you have an RD07? What year is it?

As far as I know, this applies.

RD03 front fairing was only available in R-W-B colours, and will also fit an RD04. The screen is unique to that model.

RD04 fairing will fit an RD03, but has some trim panels that go down the sides and meet/are screwed to the sidepanels.

This is where I get a bit lost now.

There was another fairing design which reminded me of the Fireblade a bit, but I'm not sure if this was on the late RD04 or early RD07.

Finally, the RD07 variants all seem to have the same front fairing.

Confused? I am now!! Perhaps just look at the picture gallery!!

Sorry I didn't realise you were in Thailand, please update your UserCP or Signature.

Your bike is the one I'm confused about its an XRV750-S I believe.

Check the frame plate on the right, and see what the prefix is, and it will show either RD04 or RD07.

Powerbronze (in the UK) have them here.

Please check I'm right before ordering!!!!

Thanks for the advise! Actually, I am not in Thailand. I am currently based out of singapore but I do tour up to Thailand and Malaysia occasionally!

    Cheers!

Yes, it appears to be the earlier RD07 - there are plenty around in the UK as well. I bought a screen for one like yours by mistake a while back. Mine is a 2001 model and has a concave lower margin where it meets the plastic of the nose fairing proper.

    Re: Heading fairing.

    Hi,

I finally got to the bottom of it, apparently most of the Africa Twins in singapore are the newer model know as the RD07A, but strangely I seem to have one from an older genre, the RD07, haha, seems that letter "A" made a whole lot of difference!

    Cheers!
