    Hello Feman

There are numerous glowing reports on the forum for G.A Wells, who recover and repack seats.

Do a search and you should find plenty of advice.

There are a number of glowing and some decidedly UN-glowing reports for CM Seats, I had a single seat done by them and it seemed Ok, but I didn't put much mileage in on it before I sold it on.

Again do a search and make your own mind up, they will put the gel inserts in if that's what your after?

I am one of the latter... and after spend WAY TOO MUCH at CM only to have it fall part in a few weeks... I did it myself for pennies... do it yourself mate.. it is worth it...
here is how i did it...

    Re: at seat

I had my seat re-shaped with a gel insert for the rider by CM/Custom Seats. of Coventry. Best money I've spent on the bike. It is far superior to the Touratech replacement I did have on the bike, which was better than the original. I got CM to make the rider saddle 'dish' flatter and about an inch wider on each side of the saddle sides for extra support and had the rider gel insert fitted.

    Hi Fenman

Is your seat in good condition?

Are you looking to customise it?

The reason I ask is that I have a seat thathas a damaged cover but the rest is ok. I actually like the standard seat. Options would be to do a swap with any cash adjustment or if you are customising could I buy the seat cover from you if it's in perfect condition?

The same questions go to anyone else out there contemplating seat surgery. I am in the Northwest area.

    Regards

    Paul

    Re: at seat

    Hi fenman

I had my seat re-done by Custom Seats and so far it seems fine. Did 700 mile round trip to Scotland in 2 days before Christmas with my son and we both had no complaints. Quality is spot on and service is brill got it back re-worked in 4 days.

I had the seat made 25mm higher and gel insets for rider and pillion but he will customise to your exact requirements at no extra cost.

I am off to Morocco in 8 weeks time 4-5k miles so that will be the ultimate test. I may do a little ride report when I get back and will comment on the seat.

My advice, don't hesitate fenman, if you fancy racking up some miles you need a comfy perch.
