Reserve Virgin No More

So, battling into that bloody wind on my way to Aldershot, just got onto the M3 - that's where I very nearly got blown off the bike and my li'l darlin' started behaving a bit strangely. I was sure I had at least another 20 miles to run on the main tank, BUT NO!!!!!! I had to change over to reserve while belting along.

Sooooooooo, how far can you get on the reserve????? Eventually I was dribbling along at what I thought was a very economical speed - 50mph wondering when that horrible silence would prevail - but just over 10 miles later, I pulled into a filling station (phew) and filled her up

Guess I've gotta throw out that t-shirt with "I'm a Reserve Virgin" on the front, now
Actually, I'll just scrawl "This is an old t-shirt" on the back

I had an FMX before i bought the @ and that seemed to spend half its time on reserve. Mind you with a 120 mile tank range (90 to reserve) it was hardly surprising.

25 ltr tank on a @ RD07
usualy 200 miles to reserve and could go 30 miles on reserve no problem
it would then take about 22 ltrs to fill up
so 50 miles + on reserve is possible
