Heroes Legend on a @ Twin

The chance has come up for me to do the Heroes Legend and if I can make all the planets align and juggle work I'm thinking about using my '94 RD07 @ twin. Any one any ideas what could be done to pimp out a @ without spending a fortune. I'll get a road map, some bigger pegs and I fancy a paint job. Has anyone got any helpful suggestions what I might want to modify on the bike? Is there a known Air filter mod? It would nice to get the air filter a bit higher?

    Hi Jon

    Spain here.aka Dean.
You doing that this year or next??
As part of a team or the Bivouac Bivouac.??
I was looking into that myself....
Isn't Ozzie from the January Morocco trip doing that this year too?

Not sure about what mods you'd need...suspension upgrade for sure i would think....loads of stuff thats costs......not a cheap trip.

    G'day Dean
I was over at Patsy and Clive Quicks the other night and going over the options of hiring one of Patsys KTM's but when I mentioned to Clive that I had a @Twin he said I should just use it. He said the off piste route is pretty mellow compared to the hard core Dakar off road piste stuff. I will have Clive as back up assistance and he will be following in a Ford F350 truck. So if that can to the off piste a @ Twin should certainly be up for it.

get the suspension serviced and set up properly for your weight at a minimum. Use an oiled foam airfilter. Use Michelin Deserts, if there's going to be much sand a steering damper makes a big difference. Make the bike as comfortable for standing up as you can, wider pegs, bar risers etc

Do you get the Deserts in a 17 inch? I thought they only do them in 18 inch.

Totally agree with the other points. Steering damper if you have the cash but rather gt the suspention sorted first.
