It sounds very much like the front is not connected to the circuit, Check the wiring.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

The bike is completely shot. It is worthless. You'd have to pay to have it taken away. As a favour I'll come and collect it from you. Have the paperwork signed and ready. Honestly, I'm doing you a favour.

It'll have to be a ride out together sometime then.

    Hi!

    Great! Another XRV650
As for the non working indicator, I would check if the front indicator circuit on that side is okey.
Usually the indicator circuit needs the right impedance to be able to produce the blinking effect, but typically the "blink frequency" will increase when the other bulb is out.

Would you please supply us with a picture of your bike?
By the way, there is one for sale in Sweden:

Pop the front fairing, or even just the screen off and trace the two wires from the indicator back to where the connect into the main loom.

The earth bullet connector will go into a receptacle with the earth from the other inicdicator (i think) and I reckon where the bullet connectors go in they will be corroded/broken/dirty or just hanging out.

15 minute jobs at the most!

    Good Luck
