Had a look at a nice tricolor 03 AT. Low mileage, fsh, standard -no extras, very clean - asking nearly £4k. As I dont have much knowledge of the AT how does the price sound to you?
Thanks

in the real world expensive as new @'s were only 5500 in 03
in the inflated world of @ values at the moment it sounds about right
have seen a few @'s in dealers for around the 3K- 4K mark for an 01-02 bike and 2500-3000 for an 00
book values mean nothing at the moment as a 03 bike will sell in dealers for anywhere between 3500 -4500 depending on condition/mileage and extra's fitted
so if it's a minter offer him 3500 and see what happens ?
happy hunting![]()
Hello vectistraveller good advice from nomad. patience allways -allways pays off. check out the for sale on this forum today there is a great @ for £2200 so look slowly
IT IS BETTER TO TRAVEL ONE MILE THAN TO READ A THOUSAND BOOKS (CONFUSIUS 500 BC/ISH)AND A BIG UP TO IBN BATTUTA

I bought an 01 of a guy on the site , 10,000 miles ,mint with a load of extras fof £2900 so i would say £4000 is way too much.
Yeah, got to agree - if that's private then its too much, dealer? yeah maybe but even then there's gonna be a bit of scope for haggling involved, best bet as already said is to look around and bide your time - they do come up and even if you get a bike thats not showroom standard you've something to aim for as you 'improve' it cos that's what we all do anyway, right?..............
I don't know much about RD07's, but my gut feeling is that's too expensive.
Think of it this way, £4000, if you could stretch another £2500 or so, you could go and get yourself and brand new BMW GS 800!
I'd have a long hard look around, work out whether you want a minter with nothing to do on it, or a bike that needs a bit of fettling which you could get MUCH cheaper and have fun getting to know by doing odd jobs on. From experience, these bikes get under your skin, and myself and many others have found that the day after you've got it, you're already looking for tall screens and knobbly tyres!!!
Take your time, there's plenty of them out there.

er, you know that could be a slightly different issue now that you consider it could be the lowest mileage @ anywhere. Maybe 4 thousand doesn't sound so bad if you really want one. Good that it's got fsh too - nice to know a bike's been looked after during all of it's 2300 miles. Incidentally, what has this bike been doing for 5 years?
