    Hello, I saw a lot of bikes with non standard paint, what is a good paint to paint plastics fairings of my Africa twin? is there any special paint for this kind of plastic, may be sound s...d but a friend of mine painted the plastics of his moto and 3 weeks after the paint start to break.
    Second, my engine make some explosions when is running and I close the throttle , I cleaned and checked the carburator, I changed the spark plugs and still the same, any answer to this problem??

    Paint;
    there is a special primer for plastic.

    Explosions;
    A common cause is a leak on the exhaust joints, either at the head or the silencer joint areas.

    hi Yeah there is a plastics primer, you can get it from anywhere as long as it is suitable for plastics (should say on the tin or ask the guy at the counter) as this has a greater flexibilty in it as the plastics move/vibrate a lot when ridden (for paint to handle), best bet is to go to an auto body shop explain what you want to do and they will point you in the right direction for aerosols (if DIY or cost if they are to do it).......dont forget to use a laquer on any paint that will be metallic (preserves it better and makes the sparkle, sparkle more in the sun), also do not use acrylic laquer on anywhere where there may be fuel (it will melt the lacquer) for this reason you will need a 2K (trade name,....its made from two parts) lacquer unfortunetly this is only available at auto bodyshops as they need to apply it....has some seriously bad chemicals in there (when spraying they need a seperate airline to breath from)......hope this helps.
    2000, RDO7, Black, Arrow Exhaust, Black Powerbronze screen, Corbin Seat, Hagon Shock, Black Crash bars, Garmin Nuvi, and a Shoei Hornet.
