Indicators

On Zebra they are a bit slow. The right one in particular flashes and few times then slows to a halt permanently on. Something dirty or the indicator relay gone?

Re: Indicators

Take the relay off, pop the bottom cover off it and give it a dose of 'electrolube' if you've got it or wd40 or such if you haven't. Then give it a dry with the hair-dryer (seriously). Then take a fine file to the contacts - its a bit tight but you can do it with say, a nail file (seriously again). Theres gonna be some crud in the contacts of the connector block as well, but unless you are confident of poping the connectors out fo the block I'd leave well alone and rely on just giving it a blast of similar stuff to the inside of the realy.

Bazza had to do all this to his recently after coming over to see me one day - then strangely enough mine did the same thing the following week. It worked fine on both and they both had the same symptoms.

One other thing - on mine I put the realy back in so it sits with the sealed bit at the top then used self amalgamating tape on teh connector end to keep any water out, but any that did get in would not be trapped in there festering away like it was - boith mine and Bazza's were sat with the open cover uppermost allowing it to fill with water!

I'd also pop the bulbs out and scrub them up with a pan scourer on the contacts then do the same for the bulb holders as well topped off with a squirt of electrolub or a thin smear of grease (petrolium jelly works well for this) before putting it back together..........

Hope that helps.

Re: Indicators

Hello Whealie....Both my front indicators packed up at the weekend...Checked the wiring (I'd been fiddling with the engine).

Went back to the simple bit...BOTH bulb connectors cacky...scouring pad and WD40...all ok.....

Shame about the engine

Having read it back I can see why!

There are 2 girls in the house and I tend to think on my feet and use whatever comes to hand - as a proper bloke I only have some shower gel and whiskey around the place so its mainly thier stuff that gets nicked and mis-used!

I'll try and be a bit more manly in my posts in future!

If you wouldn't mind just cupping your gonads in your hand and coughing before your next post please.

Un-cup yourself before you talk to me about flashing.
