    Spark plugs

An old subject but something I cant find information on atm.

When removing the fuel tank to do the spark plugs, do you have to remove the 3 tubes, i.e. fuel tube, air vent tube and the overflow tube?

Are these easy access from the left or the right?

Is there enough room to just wiggle the tank out the way to access the spark plugs?

Hope someone can give me the idiot guide to this and save my sanity

    Kind regards

    Paul

    Re: Spark plugs

    Hi Paul
I’ve successfully changed all 4 spark plugs a number of times and have never removed the tank or any pipes. Mine is a RD07a so not sure if other models are the same. You do have to raise the tank at the back using the tank-lifting-up-tool that Honda supply and hide underneath the seat in order to access the 2 rear plugs. I can also remove the 2 front plugs without removing any fairing panels. The Purpose-made Honda spark plug tool is essential though, as Sherky points out. To be honest it was a bit fiddly to begin with but as soon as that tool latches on to the plug you know it’s in the right place and I whizzed them out in seconds.

    Good luck

Is that sparkplug honda tool is the tool provided with the original tool kit provided? (the one under the seat)

    Cheers...
