    What a mess!!!!!!!!!! plz help

My bike had a recent problem of cutting out either fuel or electricity.

I ride normally and all over sudden, when i pull the throttle the sound becomes low while am holding throttle maximum, and the bike's pick is very low and when i hit the 1st gear it turns off. i have to turn it on and pull the throttle little bit until it picks up and continue riding. sometimes it happens alot.

today i decided to change the 3000kms NGK plug with the iridium and there was a ticking sound above the front cylinder that meant there is leaking current from the plugs.(hope some1 knows what i mean)

i tried everything and finally decided to change the 2 devices that connects to the plug(dont know the name), changed it with the 2 for the rear cylinder. I regret doing so coz the bike doesnt start now.

    1. What would have been the cause of the cut-offs?
    2. What is the name of the device that connects to the plug?
    3. What am i supposed to do?

HT leads their caps or the coil could be causing your problem (check leads and caps are connected well).... fuel could be another or maybe CDI units.
I had the same sounding trouble as you and dirt in the carbs was the problem, all was good then for the first five miles of my journey then it ran bad for a couple of miles then wouldn't pull away from stationary, revs failed to rise...had to push it to bike shop dressed in full leathers on a hot day, not fun. Cost two hours labour.

Hope you narrow it down and get going soon.

    Graham.

Resistance at the spark plug caps should be approx. 5 K-ohms...and you replaced 2 of them and now it does not start. I would fix that problem first. Try putting the old caps back on. Primary and secondary windings resistance can also be checked...but they vary depending on your model of AT. I would suggest you look into chapter 5 ignition of the Haynes manual for procedure and correct values of the HT coils.
First though, check for a healthy blue spark on each of your plugs by grounding them to the engine and turning it over.
As for your first problem...how old is your fuel pump?

Yes. The other end connects to the HT Coil. I really think the following item on ebay will help you when identifying parts....and quite possibly help you fix a problem. We are here to help you too. Let us know how you are making out.

sounds fuel related, dirty fuel, as has been mentioned or carb diaphram..

do you have a fuel filter fitted?

Yes. I ended up breaking one HT lead cap after trying to change the Front coils with the rear coils. Is it a wrong thing to change the Front coils with the rear coils???
