    Bike died

    Can anybody help

I was travelling down the m20, doing approx 80mph, when my AT just lost all power, pulling into the hard shoulder, i tried bumping, nothing!. Stopped on the hard shoulder. allelectrics worked ie lights indicators etc, but electric start would not work. Called AA they turned up visually checked everything i had already visually checked. then kindly gave me and my AT a lift to Laguna in Maidstone and then very kindly gave me a lift home.
Can anybody help diagnose my problem, hopefully saving time and money at Laguna

    Thanks

    Robmac

Have you checked the fuse box. Circuit 'D' is 10 amp and works the starter, fuel and ignition.

Rob, you might want to have a look at this thread. The same thing happened to my AT last weekend in very similar circumstances.

Laguna have got it now, but I'd suggest checking the (30 amp I think) big master fuse, which is located under the connector on top of the started solenoid.

Moisture gets in there, they start corroding, the resistance becomes high between the fuse and it's contacts, they heat up, melt, and do all sorts.

A quick visual check will take a couple of minutes, but while you're doing it, clean it up anyway.

    Good Luck
