    regulator/rectifier problem

Got the XRV out the shed a few weeks ago. Got it started, all lights were super bright end most of the bulbs popped. Bought new reg/rect, fitted it and this one seems to be dead too. Bought another spare and this one seems dead also. My battery seems pretty shot. Could a duff battery being popping my new re/rect units?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Your original volt/rectifier cooked your battery is my guess so it's trash. Install a new battery and you should be fine. Voltage should read 14.5 volts or so but no higher than 14.8 at the battery when at idle.

That would make sense, 30 volts going across a 12v battery is nto going to do it any good at all. So now I have to buy battery and 2 reg/rects.... I tried my mates rect on my bike to see if it would work and I think I've popped that one too.

    Thanks for your help.

The wire that goes from the reg/rect can be disconnected to test them out without fear of a dead battery blowing them. As the reg/rects are blowing it sounds like you have a short between that wire and earth which could be a faulty battery.

If you do need to get another rectifier get it from wemoto. They are exactly the same as the Honda one's and about half the price.
