Question Fairing Screws & Clicks. 2001 Tricolour Africa twin

My dealer put a Scotoiler under the fairing on my XRV 750 (the side bit with the seat release keyhole) I must have forgotten to replace the screws 'cause they aint there any more! Till I get replacements (I assume I will have to order them from my Honda Dealer - Fowlers Bristol) will I be safe to 'borrow' one from the fairing bit on other side? I haven't got a clue what is underneath, and I don't want to fiddle.

Secondly, an irritating click has started, emanating from the front wheel, strangely, it seems to be a slow click, click, click, not really matching the speed of the front wheel. It is not there at standstill when I rev the engine, and not when I spin the front wheel when when the bike is on the main-stand.

Any assistance from forum members would be much appreciated.

I lost a fairing screw and just cable tied it in place rather than removing other screws - as for the clicking, cant help there but someone will be along in a second that can.

Just use any M6 bolt x whatever length will fit and put a washer under it until your new ones arrive. Nothing will be disturbed by you taking the panels off - in fact it'd be a good idea to have a look and get to know your bike a bit more. The only things you really should know the locations of are the Reg/rec is under the l/h panel, and your coolant reservoir and fuse box are under the r/h panel.............go ooooon - whip 'em off and have a look

It isn't something obvious like a pebble/stone stuck in the tread is it?

    Speedo cable/drive housing?
    Loose/snapped spoke?
    warped brake disc?
    Loose brake pad?
    Loose brake caliper mounting bolt?

Should be enough to keep you busy for a bit eh?
