1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

I seem to remember once finding a 15 nut on my RD04 so I carry one of those too, but otherwise I agree.

That's cos it was once dealer serviced and was in fact a chewed 17mm nut.

    Re: What size sockets

I would add an 11mm to your list, Honda are very fond of this size nut/bolt

    Re: What size sockets

Also, I swear by 6-point sockets.

These hold any nut or bolt much better than the common 12-point sockets due to more contact area,
holding on the flat sides of the nut rather than just the weaker corners.

A set of six-point sockets will handle 99 percent of the jobs you throw at them,
and they are also the best thing for removing rusty or stubborn nuts & bolts where a 12 point socket will fail.

    Nearly too many bikes...

    Re: What size sockets

I would have a socket for every spanner usually found in the tool kit.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
