Has anybody here ever put a Transalp motor in a RDO4 frame
If so any pitfalls,
Thought I'd ask here before I got out my manual's and a ruler![]()

I recall that a forum member put an RD04 engine in a transalp frame successfully, so i would'nt expect much problem the other way round.
PS
are you using TA motor cos you can't find an @ motor? or is there some special purpose ?
The older Transalps (PD06 serial numbers) and maybe even the newer ones do not have an upper rear engine mount. This is not cast into the TA cases.
This should not be a problem just leaving this bolt off as the Transalps do fine without it.
The ignition systems may not match exactly. Transalps (at least the early ones we got in the States) have two crankshaft sensors. I believe the ATs and later TAs have only one. This is not an impossible problem it is just that all the ignition/coil wiring may not exactly "plug and play".
The front engine mounts and exhaust systems are also a bit different. If you are trying to use an AT exhaust, the pipes are bent differently where they join the heads since the TA heads are a bit different.
Also, check the chain-line after installation as the TA CS sprocket may not line up exactly with the AT rear sprocket since the older TAs used drum brakes.
All my information is from guys in the States with PD06 Transalps that have installed AT or Honda nt650 Hawk engines. Your mileage may vary.
