    Tripmaster......... again!!

Posted here a long time ago but only recently got round to having another go at repairing my tripmaster.

Basically it works but only registers about 0.1 mile per 50ish ridden.
So have replaced all capacitors inside (twice!) as per advice. Still no joy.

So before I buy a separate acewell unit or similar does anybody have any final advice, or live reasonably close to Leicester uk that would be willing to swap units for a quick check to confirm it is the tripmaster. ( Have bought a speedo off ebay.... no joy)

    thanks

    Dave

    Have you read this -

    http://www.xrv.org.uk/wiki/index.php...work_correctly.

    Might give you some pointers.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Re: Tripmaster......... again!!

    Sorry, try this -

    1) Go to the Wiki main page (Wiki is one of the selections at the very top of each page)

    2) In "The Knowledge Base", select "Bike Troubleshooting"

    3) Under "Symptoms", select "Digital tripmeter does not work correctly"

It might be some help, it might not - but worth a look.

Dave, I've got exactly the same problem, mine only clicks up by 0.1mile every 50 miles or so.

I'll be interested if you find the answer, I thought mine was the pulse generator?

    Re: Tripmaster......... again!!

Yeah I have bought another speedo off ebay, it made no difference. What was really annoying is that it did start working for a morning after being in the sun. Last chance is to follow the link above from Lutin to test the sender but having had a good look and chat with the chap at Acewell ( deep in a thread somewhere!) I think I will go down that line.
Take a look at this link. It is his own website.http://www.africatwin.co.uk/africatw...0_at/index.htm

It all seems to be neat and tidy

Yeah, me too I reckon. A recent trip of several thousand miles registered a whole 53 miles on the tripmaster !.

    Thanks for the tip.

Noticed that on that link dave sent it says part numbers ACE-3100-AT and ACE-3250-AT, but on the acewell site it doesnt have the -AT at the end so i've emailed them to find out if it's a direct fit as stated on http://www.africatwin.co.uk/africatw...0_at/index.htm
