    Thumbs up Linkage bearings kit

    Hi

Just noticed that Wemoto now supplies the monoshock linkage bearing kit for the RD07 at 89,50 gbp

Have gotten the impression they are quite expensive and hard to find outside the Honda system because of special dimensions.

Have placed a order for my beloved AT

    Re: Linkage bearings kit

The kit contents list doesn't say that it contains the metal sleeves - just the needle bearings and the seals. You may still need to buy the four metal sleeves on top of that price if yours are worn, pitted or rusty.

Let us know what's in the kit when it arrives.

    Re: Linkage bearings kit

Will do, but probably not supplied.

Anyway Lings want 20 punds for one 20x26x20 bearing (2 needed) and 13 punds for the 17x24x17 bearing and the last one you need 5 of.

    Collars are 3, 5, 7 and 8,3 punds.

    Re: Linkage bearings kit

I paid just short of 50 quid for the 2 bearings, seals and the spacer for the lower link arm that bolts to the frame and the 3-way lower shock link. That was from the local dealers and although it was steep, it was in stock the next day and I was in a rush so not too bad, BUT, I'd not like to be paying that kind of money in future thats for certain!

    Re: Linkage bearings kit

Has anyone experience with Wemotos kit?

I`ll need all new bearings, seals and one sleeve.
Maybe I`ll ask what my turner has to say about that sleeve.

    Re: Linkage bearings kit

The Wemoto kit contains just the bearings and seals if I remember rightly, and I bought new sleeves/bushes from Honda.

From all the ones I have looked at, its the long sleeve that seems to be the most likely to suffer from seized bearings, probably because it gets the most road crud, and I've found always needs replacing, but the other sleeves are often OK and will clean up nicely with a bit of Autosol or something, so if you can stand being off the road for a few days, its worth inspecting and cleaning the old ones before investing in a new set.

Try alls balls bearing kits they might do them for the AT £60 for xr's linkage and swingarm bearings, rollers and seals. NOthing special about the bearings, all you need is the HK number on the side of the bearing and any engineering supplies shop will sell them to you

    Re: Linkage bearings kit

    Just ordered kit from Wemoto.

Bearings can`t be found from industrial catalogues, theres 1 mm difference in diameter.

    Re: Linkage bearings kit

I got the lot together from several difference suppliers including David Silver for the sleeves and seals - the whole lot came to around what Wemoto want for the kit, which wasn't around at the time. That also includes the swing arm bearings, so all in all a LOT cheaper for shopping around. The bearings for the linkage were available, but only in a slightly narrower width, which doesn't worry me (unlike a wheel or swing arm bearing would).

Mine never got used as they were more of a precaution because of my high mileage - however, they move freely and don't have play. It's a job I still can't be arsed to do , but at least I have the parts.
