    Front engine guard (Rugged Roads)

Hi, and thanks for a great foum!

Has anyone bought the front egine guard from Rugged Roads? This one:

    http://www.ruggedroads.com/shop/arti...6aid%3D7052%26

I would be the happiest camper in the world if someone could post a picture of how it looks mounted on the @. The image at RR doesn't give me any sense of scale so I have no idea where it's supposed to be bolted on and how far it reaches.

    Thanks in advance!

Just as a guess, I'd say it fits behind the top front edge of the bash plate and is located by the two main bolts. I think it looks like a jolly good accessory, actually!

I was thinking the same thing (after taking a quick look at the @ this morning). Keeping this part of the frame safe from pebbles seems to be a clever idea

Still hoping for an image though

Re: Front engine guard (Rugged Roads)

    Another question for Stormforce8

What did you use to add the distance needed to clear the protector from the bash plate? When I look at my @, the holes where the bolts go into my bash plate are so deep that the bolt heads vanish beneath the "surface" of said bash plate. If I was to bolt the protector like it is, the protector would be pushed against the bash plate. Behind the protector, the original distances/washers/bushings (sorry for my poor vocabulary) would be free to rattle and not holding things steady as they are supposed to.

Did you use extra washers to add the distance? Did you receive supplemntary washers/distances and longer bolts together with the protector?

I tried t make a sketch of the default state, the state where the protctor is mounted but the washers offers no support, and finally where extra washers (or whatever I should do) add support and clearance

has any one fitted the bash plate with motad crash bars fitted, i looked last night and motad bars use the same fixing holes as the bash plate so i doubt it will fit.
