Hi,
Below are a couple of photos of an @ for sale currently on e-bay, is anyone aware of who is the maker of the Crash Bars? I had these on my @ but were beyond repair after being taken of my bike.

Dunno but there on my AT aswell.
Damn strong looking bars IMO hopefully I wont be using them
WIll be getting some Pannier Frames by Hepco and Becker to match them soon - once i sell my little trailie.
Dunno what type they are, but popular theory on here is that the front mounting of that type is prone to failing due to snapping the bash guard tabs off the frame.
I followed advice from here and fitted the SW-Motec version that uses 'U' bolts and such around the main frame down-tube.............
They do look nice though, however flawed.................
They look like motad to me. AFAIK no longer in business.
Motad. No longer made and I even rang them up and asked how many orders they'd need to make anew batch.
As it turned out, the more people I spoke to the more I went off them. They look great but bend and break easily. SW Motech is the way to go.

Two XRV750-M ('91) RD04s on J ('92) plates.
Laser Pro Duro, crash bars, bark busters, heated grips, GPS, topbox, Alu Boxes, Scotoiler, Starcom, ciggie lighters and XRV stickers.
Thanks guy's,
Looking like a dead end then, never know, someone may want to change for a SW Motech model.

Motad definitely is what they are. I had a set on my old RD04 and they snapped in half from vibration (both sides eventually). They snapped where the web is now welded on in the photo at the top of this thread so perhaps that cured it.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.
1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
Another problem I've heard with the Motad ones is they make removing the bash plate a bit of a pain. It's not an issue if you don't take the bash plate off very often but I tend to drop mine to get the mud gravel and grass out of it and hammer it back to shape.
