David Silver Spares do an original for about £95 delivered but are not carrying stock at the moment or you could try the Wemoto one for a few pounds more.
I've not tried either, but I'm sure they will both be o.k.

    Re: centre stand

SW Motech one is, too my mind, better than the Honda one because it's got a longer arm that makes it easier to rotate the bike onto the stand.

BUT . . . . it doesn't come with a lifting handle, which the Honda one does. An essential bit of kit when it comes to getting the bike up onto the center stand. I got one made up, using a Honda item as a guide.

    Just my tuppence worth.

    Re: centre stand

I've got the genuine honda one that I picked up from ebay (if you're not in an immediate hurry for it it's worth keeping an eye on ebay as they do pop up occasionally and sometimes cheaper - I was lucky and I think I picked it up for not a lot over half price new but they come up used occasionally too). You need to be sure it's for the right model though as the rd04 and later stands differ.

Like Steve says, it's a pain to lift it onto the stand and if you've got luggage fitted then you might not be able to fit the lift handle even if you get one with it (uses the same mounts as the givi wingrack I think - others may be different). So the non-honda one might be better if it's easier to lift. With mine, you don't so much rock it back onto the stand and use leverage the way you can with other bikes but heave for all you're worth and try to lift it up while stopping the stand from slipping away (every time I do it using the pillion pegs I end up with red marks on my hands palms that take an hour to die down and a lot of the time it takes more than one attempt for me to get it up there).

    Re: centre stand

Not sure if you mean me or Steve, but just looked it up and mine was £52.50 from ebay (though there'll have been a bit added on for delivery I can't remember how much - I seem to remember it being reasonable though). I think it was an auction and started off a bit lower than that (missed out on his first one so I think I put in a bid just a bit higher than his first one went for and won if I remember right - unless there was a buy now and I ended up just hitting that after bidding at some point - it's been a while and the items no longer listed and can't remember exactly).

I think I was lucky as the guy only had a couple at the time. I think this is his shop outside of ebay judging by his username : http://www.ridersmotorcycles.co.uk/ - I asked at the time how many he had because other people here might be interested and he didn't have any more left, but mentioned he gets stock in regularly and somtimes sells at reduced prices prices so might be worth asking if you're in the market for one. I got this one back in spring last year though so it's been a while.

    Re: centre stand

I haven't seen one on eBay for ages (I have a saved search for XRV bits). I actually have two stands and handles - one on the bike and one that originally came from Riders that Chris fitted to the RD04 I broke for spares. I was wondering what price to put on a slightly used good condition stand.

I had been toying with the idea of swapping it with the stand on mine as mine has battle scars but, unless the pivot is seized on mine, I'll probably end up selling it as I'll only put battle scars on that too.

As soon as I've had some time in the garage to check it out, I'll have one up for grabs - probably be a couple of weeks though 'cos I'm in the middle of a major project (hence working at 3am - doh!).
