    Panniers for AT

hi everyone. If I do this longest day ride I will need some panniers to go on my @.
Any ideas/suggestions please...? To do the ride will already cost me an arm and a leg so obviously money is an issue....
    Thank you!!

I rode all the way to Italy and back with a pair of soft Oxford throwovers. The sports ones fit really well and sit well enough above the exhaust not to worry aout the heat. The are expandable so go out compressed buy goodies and expand to carry them!

Cheap as anything compared with aternatives - no rack needed.

    Pics somewhere on :

I did the Stella Alpina with them a few years ago.

    Ciao

I fancy some good panniers and racks, but I wont get round to them untill my workshop is finished, and that will be several months off. So I bought a pair of these sports type bags by Belstaff, and I second what Angelo said, their worth a look. Higher than the exhaust, look good especially if their RED and very cheap.

    Re: Panniers for AT

Security is the only issue with soft panniers so I have a large lockable topbox for that stuff.

You see loads sports panniers on eBay cos the sports boys think they can tour on R1 s - they can it hurts they givevup and sell the kit.

I recommend the newer Oxfords nice looking and with seperate pockets. They sit as high as you want to adjust them. Important - I use an adjustable seal from. A d ring ok each pannier around the rear bike carrier to stop them sliding forward.

They are narrower the Ali panniers so filtering is ok as well and if they do touch no damage usually

    Good luck

brilliant guys thank you...guess time to go shopping on ebay shortly. You are right about performance bikes and touring Angelo.....friend of mine took his Fireblade and his wife touring all the way to Italy...I believe divorce is almost imminent and the guy's not been able to sit down properly ever since!! )
