    Africa Twin Custom Seat

At the meeting at Jelly's cafe in Derbyshire I promised to upload details of the custom seat fitted to my @ by the previous owner.
He had purchased a Touratech seat and didnt get on with it, so he had the original one re covered.

This is the URL http://www.motorcycleseatworks.co.uk/ on the sticker on the underside of the seat.

The seat appears very well finished. I havn't traveled any distance on it yet but it does seem comfortable. The guy I bought the bike off was in to distance riding and seemed to know what he was after. Unfortunatly I don't know how much the work cost.

I will know more about how good the seat is after the Five Capitals run in June, although I have just bought an Aihawk 2 from a bargain box in a local dealers.

    The sticker says:
    www.motorcycleseatworks.co.uk
    Any motorcyclr seat re covered
any colour any spec. SAE for INFO
    Tel Bradford 01274 604627

    Hope this is of interest.

Hmmm, very nice. I'm trying to recover my own at the moment, and failing spectacularly. I'll give you ten quid and a packet of rancheros for that one

Sorry, i'm on a diet or the rancheros would have clinched a deal .

I tried re covering a seat once on a Suzuki trail bike, it looked like a poorly wrapped parcel.

That looks very similar in shape to what I did to mine with a bread knife ,some bits of foam ,glue and some staples .Mine doesnt look anywhere near as flash as that tho ,becuse I just stretched the old skin over it. That shape of seat certainly makes it more comfee on the longer rides , I recently did 1000 km of gravel roads in 20 hours straight without getting a sore arse

Your location "French Pass" sounds like a must visit place. I have a list of to do's. One is to visit New Zeland, companies advertise here offering bike based tours of New Zeland and their tours are definatly on my list.
    Thanks for the reply.

Re the bread knife and foam, it may not have looked the part but without 'go' its no point in worrying about 'show'.

    Cheers
