    Angry Offset of front wheel

I have just started lacing the front wheel of an AT, Before I dismantled all, I forgot to measure the offset of the hub to rim to allow space for the speedo drive. Does anyone have this info or can they direct me to a source? It's not in the Haynes manual.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I got the spokes and nipples from Central Wheel corp in England. The spoke nipples are .025 too large and will not fit the OEM rim. As would have it I have already had the rims powder coated.
    I'm pretty pissed right now.

It matters little to me whether it is matric or imperial.
    I work in both.

    Thanks

    Re: Offset of front wheel

The measurement that I need is that of the distance from the lug nuts holding on the brake disc to the edge of the rim in the right side iof the wheel.

Lie it on a flat surface with the right side down and measure from the flat surface to the bottom edge of the rim.
It should be more than the distance on the left side due to the spedo drive being on the right side.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Offset of front wheel

Hi Bill, is yours a twin disc? I have measured my spare, with a straight edge across the disc mounting lugs distance to rim is 30mm both sides, so no offset.

Yes I have the RD04 twin disc wheel.
I'll snug up the nipples and fit the wheel between the forks and see if it fits.
Thanks for your trouble. Much appreciated.

    Hi Bill,
I have an RD04 and did some measuring with the wheel on the bike and a striaght edge. It appears that the RD04 dual disc wheel is centre with no offset as well. Hope this helps.

    Re: Offset of front wheel

I purchased my spokes and nipples from Central Wheel in England. First they sent the wrong diameter spokes that did not fit.
When I made them aware of this fact they sent stainless spokes instead of the ordered galvanized and the nipples were .300 instaed of .275 and they will not fit the rim. Now Warren Harding of this company wants to charge me for the correct spoke nipples which I have already paid for.
These guys are either asleep at the switch or they ar just plain incompitent.

Thanks to all who have provided assistance.

    Always trying to be correct.
    Bill
