    Bike passed the MOT yesterday

My bike passed it's MOT yesterday, only realised it was due when a 6th sense made me check out the old certificate on Tuesday. Just got it booked in the nick of time. The tester shoulda worn gloves though, I thinks he's still washing his hands today.

78,000 miles up on my low mileage AT and still going strong. Looks like this one will be returning to zero on the clocks like the last one in the not too distant furure(touching wood like mad here).
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

I'll bet mine's having an easier life down here in the tropics compared to you up in the Arctic there.

Funny you should say that YEN.

I was looking forward to a blast today, but the bloody snows started again. Don't think it will last, maybe go out when the wind dies down

It won't be easy, I won't touch anything that has got an alarm or immobilisor or has a dodgy exhaust with no rejetting to suit. That don't leave a lot of nice low mileage bikes.

Might have to keep this one going as long as possible.

They certainly do go on and on - mines not far off the 90k now, but it did have a long rest for a few years.

A propos weather, yes, we had plenty of snow yesterday, but today promises sunny and warm all day. I saw the forcast for the south, and it doesn't look quite so good....

Re: Bike passed the MOT yesterday

Oddly enough I had two problems pointed out last year (the minor faults they point out on a seperate sheet even though you've passed the MOT), one was the notched head bearings, the other was warped front discs.

I replaced the head bearings a few weeks ago. I swear the discs have healed themselves, it certainly didn't show up on the brake tester this year and no comment was made. They have felt better this last 6 months so I decided to risk the MOT with the same discs.
