THIS THURSDAY: Tell Honda we want a new @

Honda's management are holding a meeting from 10-12 March at the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel, Bath Road, Hounslow, TW6 2AQ.

On Thursday they have a Q&A session and the issue of building a new Africa Twin is sure to come up (It is, trust me, we know).

If we can get enough of us there bright and early on Thursday we could let our presence be know and maybe present a letter to Honda asking them to look at our site, engage with us, and even build a new Africa Twin.

If nothing else it will give us a chance to start yet another thread about what Honda should to make the new @ even better (800cc, 50kg lighter, 70mpg, six gears etc etc etc).

So who can make it - say 9ish at the hotel, for an hour maybe?

No, it is a staff from around the world event, but if enough of us on @s make a noise and ask politely to be heard, I reckon the least we'd manage would be for a letter to be handed in and read out loud.

If we can guarantee 20 of us, I reckon we can get the bike press interested, adding further pressure.

I remember trying the same thing with Citroën when they were talking about axing the 2CV.

Trouble is, the bean counters and focus-group statisticians always discount active enthusiasts as nutters, but look what happens when they get their way - they come up with the Tiger 1050!

Chris, I'd like to join you for this but there is no way I could be there for 9am as I have to take my kids to school first. Probably the best I could do is be there at 10:30.

I am pretty flexible. If we say 10am and then people can roll up as and when they can.

There's little point in doing this if only a few of us can be there.

Another option would be to go Wednesday evening, if more people can make it - I can't as I have a parliamentary reception to attend.

We could just get a handful of people to turn up and instead of lobby, just go in and leave a letter for the Honda people, or ask to speak to them and try to engage them - get them to come outside and talk about the bikes and why we love them etc.

Is anyone travelling down from the North West Pussy, sorry my mind was wandering I meant possy and if so what time are you setting off on Thursday morning. Well worth a day off work this one and I think we can make a difference if there are enough of us. If we can't be arsed then we'll all be driving orange things or bloody expensive mans wheels in a bit?
