    Larger Footpegs

Has anyone ever managed to find larger footpegs that will fit an Africa Twin. I've tried various enduro and motocross pegs but so far no luck.
I know Touratech do some, but as with all their stuff they want silly money and also they just look too rough.
Surely there must be something that will fit from an XR, CR, DR, KTM, WR etc etc. I managed to make pegs from a Husqvarna 410 fit my Tenere and it is such an improvement over the standard narrow pegs.

I got some from Ebay recently. They took just over two weeks to arrive from the US and I've yet to find washers thin enough to fit under, but I think they're a vast improvement on the originals and miles cheaper than Touratech etc.

Thanks for that, I was looking at them on ebay but wasn't sure they would fit the Africa Twin. Did they go on ok, right size, spring, pin, bush etc. cheers..

Oh yeah, they went on fine. The only prob was I couldn't get the original washers to fit back on underneath but I didn't spend too much time on them.

this may be a daft suggestion but have you tried going into a "proper" tool shop and asking for some "shims"
Moto Guzzi Stelvio ( red of course )
Honda XR 600, my new old toy - needs mending
    Honda crf450x
    XS 700 Mercury Twin
    transrat in the shed

TLD 6/2010 Run For The Sun 15hrs 55 min all in

I never thought of that actually, thanks for the tip I suspect the problem here would be finding that 'proper' shop, I have to buy basically everything from the internet.

I have a set of the eBay pegs and just used thin stainless steel washers from a bag of Allen bolts nuts and washers I had good fit and so much better

    Re: Larger Footpegs

I got some as well - I put a slightly longer stainless cap headed bolt in there in place of the pin (same diameter so good fit), I had a little extra length (oo-err) so was able to fit some nice thick (also stainless) washers and cap it all off with a nice stainless nyloc nut. Looks waaaaaay beter then the crappy rusty pin that was there originally.

The pegs weren't marked up as XRV - they were DR I beleive. If you search foot-pegs on here you'll find a thread all about them.............

    Re: Larger Footpegs

Just put some wide pegs on my @, they are the same fitment as a XR 400/CRM 250. I had some aluminium ones I had got from Leisure Trail years ago and together with a CR80 Sunline gearlever I have just fitted also, it has transformed any problems 'down below' if you know what I mean.
New footpegs are slightly lower which is a bonus, as I always felt my feet were to high and hence my knees were bent too much for long journeys, with the old ones anyway.
