Talking AT seat flew away - inspirational pictures sought to build a seat from scratch...

Hi; my AT seat flew away while on being moved on a trailer. This puts me in an "interesting" situation (and hopefully, will generate a few laughs on your side).

Anyways, as the original seat was very hard anyways, ... I am looking to build one... Can anybody post (for the benefits of others as well) some useful pictures of the underside of the seat, ... and where this touches on the AT?

Has anybody built a seat from scratch? If there are any useful links, don't hesitate..

    My model is a RD07 (T)

Thank you , and long live the AT...

Re: AT seat flew away - inspirational pictures sought...

    Slightly technical question:

I found a good picture of the AT seat area on http://linki.se/final.jpg

Wanting to build my own seat, I assume it should lie on, or push on, the 4 bolts left and right, and on the two gray parallel bars (the frame).

However, on the frame, left side of the AT (or bottom, on the picture), what are the small metal "wires" (slightly curved/bent)? Are these to attach something to, or do they prevent a lateral movement of some kind? Does the seat push on these in any way?

    Thx in advance

(in the mean time, I already found a spare seat from a Piaggo scooter, so I have foam, leather cover, and "just" need to build a base). Any advice welcome

Hi, the frame or the tyre leavers, the only part of the seat that locks is a hook on the under side of the seat, which goes under the curly hoop, on the left side furthest from the tank. This as you put it, it does prevent a lateral movement of some kind? But it also locks at the tank and by the locking mechanism near the back rack.
