    Please ID these parts

I got the parts, muffler etc here today, but I'm not sure what these parts are. They look used, not sure if he's replaced them or what, or why what appears to be a double and single CDI unit? Is that a muffler mount or motor mount or what?

The orginal windshield looks very good, these extra turn signals he sent have very dark amber like lenses, not sure if these are aftermarket or what? I don't see how the light can get through them but someone might have thought they looked cool.

Thanks in advance, I'm sure you guys know what these parts are, right?

Thanks, and I figure that is a GOOD thing to have spare. Wonder if the bike needs it, how often would a bike need to change that, every second chain, 40,000 miles?

Mine was still okay at 130,000 miles however i did use a lot of oil on the chain (I've still got that swingarm in the garage, I'll try and get a picture of the sliders)
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Larger CDI is for the RD04, although I have never seen it with green connectors.

I do have suspicions that the RD04 CDI, is actually just two RD03 CDI's in the same PVC case, but have never proven this.

So did I but the pinouts are totally different. The innards do basically consist of two individual CDI's but it's not as simple as two individual CDI's side by side in a big case. You can't swap the plugs over on an RD04 unit like swapping the CDIs on an RD03.

    Re: Please ID these parts

Ah, great I'm providing some entertainment, maybe even education. Now, check out these puppies:

Extra signal stalks, I think for the front, but with smoked lenses. One extra amber lens thrown in. What's the deal, please tell me the bike didn't come with the smoked lenses. Did someone put smokey lenses on for the coolness factor?

I never quite got it, the way people put signal lenses on their car so dark you can hardly see the signal when its on... comments

Needless to say when I powered them both up, there was a HUGE difference in light output between them. Smokey looked like a 3 watt bulb, and amber 21.

    Jim

You're right, the amber ones are original equipment.

The smoked ones may be OE or aftermarket for an early CBR600 which shares the same fitting.

I've actually fitted clear lenses on the front of my RD04 with amber 21w bulbs, which I think look nice (and are bright) but I've never really liked the smoked ones either.
