    Conti Escape Tyres

I had a pair of Conti Escapes fitted on Saturday, and went out yesterday to scrub them in - It felt like a completely different bike! Covered 93 miles on a variety of roads from fastish A roads to gravel-strewn tracks, and so far I'm very happy with them particularly as I got them for £99 delivered

With only 8 miles on them they performed very well in an emergency stop - some numpty in a car decided to stop on a blind bend to admire the scenery!

I haven't been out in the wet with them yet ( I'm a bit of a pansy in the wet anyway ) but will report back on wet performance, and tyre life when I can.

I've been using these for the last 2000 miles, for the first time, and I'm very pleased. apart from 2 rear punctures, but that can happen with any Tyre.
But loads of grip wet or dry, and good wear so far.

    Re: Conti Escape Tyres

I've used them for around 50,000 miles (maybe more - obviously on several sets though!). I like them - not the best tyre I've used, but pretty good across the board, and wears quite well (6-7000 miles on a rear, around 10,000 on the front). I now need to change my rear as it's very square and almost down to the limit; the front has several cuts (with objects still in), and is scalloped now.

I was considering going over to Heidenaus or Mitas for cost reasons (and because they should be better for dirt tracks). However, £99 a set is pretty good. Where was that from....?

I went for "S" rated on both tyres as I won't be doing 112mph on my @. I also went for the 130 rear.

I also have a set on the AT and must admit I can't see myself changing to any other tyre soon, unless I decide to go for something more agressive for off-road riding, which is rather tempting.... I've had them in mud (not too deep) and sand and they performed very well. IMO the best DS tyre available especially for the price. I tried the Heidenaus but the Contis are much better in the wet.

Just had a set fitted to my @, what a difference!! absolutley fantastic, its like a different bike, so surefooted so to speak, after scrubbing them in on a run to Bamburgh i was able to put them through their paces round the bends & in the wet, very very good.

Thanks - wow there are some bargains there! Check out the Metzler Karroos: rear £57.93, and front £40.65. Never seen them that cheap...

If you want them get them quick - I think they have the wrong price on some of the tyres on their website, and I'm sure they'll notice soon! When I phoned about the Escapes they quoted I price around £15 higher than the website price, so I (obviously) ordered via the website.

Thanks for the warning! It's tempting, but I reckon the Escapes will do me better for my purposes...

    Re: Conti Escape Tyres

Same applies to the Escapes - cheaper (wrong) price on the website.
