Removing shock spring on RD03 rear shock

Hi all, I got a very nice standard shock off cabbage2404, I'd like to take the spring off my original shock and get it powder coated. Then fit it to the shock when i strip the bike down this winter.

How does the shock come apart ?

If you loosen the adjuster rings right off does the spring drop down allowing the bottom mount to be unscrewed ??

Thats the way i would think it comes apart but the adjuster rings are sooooooooooooooooooooooo tight !!!!!!!

I thought i'd ask before potentially doing all this for nothing,

If this is the way i'll pre order myself an ambulance now then shall i

Ambulanced cancelled, Spring off, shock in pieces .

It all came apart as i thought after a struggle getting the adjuster rings moving so now i'll get the spring powder coated and i've ordered another dust seal as the one on the shock i got has split.

On to the next problem........................................... ........

No, The shock i got off cabbage2404 is a nice one, The body is in good condition, its just the spring thats rusty and the dust seal thats split so i'll get the spring i removed from my original (knackered) shock powder coated and i have a new dust seal on order.

I'll put the painted spring and the new seal on the shock i got off cabbage - job done,

If that one starts to leak i have the choice of two to get refurbished.
