Problem with keeping air in rear wheel ?

I ran out of petrol and got a puncture last night!! Grrrr

Anyway i have tubeless tyres on the @ but after i got it plugged it keeps going down... Its leaking out of the black rubber valve thing in the pic attached.. Theres one on the front too but when i push it nothing happens..

Can any1 shed any light on this problem ?

Cheers
Andy

Re: Problem with keeping air in rear wheel ?

surely with spoked rims youmust have a tube, you may have a tyre that says tubeless but it will have a tube in it, i am assuming the hole was plugged from outside, so most likely doing that enlarged the gap in the tube and the rubber bung is the only place the air can escape

They are not tubeless rims, so I hope you have a tube in there

Depends if you have a decent enough pair of tyre levers. I changed the tyres on my Transalp on my own - and promptly bought BIGGER tyre levers.

It is do-able, it just depends on how confident you are. But it isn't difficult.

Have a look at episode 2, from Garage Night -

Ep 2: Beads and bearings at Garage Night

Should give you the basic idea.

I would offer to help but wrong side of the country - and Galway is HEAVING because of the Volvo Ocean Race.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
