It sounds like your bike is cutting out on one cyclinder. And if itīs happening when it rains then spray your plug caps and HT leads with plenty of WD40 (donīt forget to spray inside the plug caps).

Ok so sounds to me I have a busy Saturday Morning ahead of me, first i will start with the easiest check ignition wires then onto.......WD40....perfume of the god's on the ht leads and plugs etc then move onto the coil spades etc then onto the dreaded carb clean....... hopefully one of these will sort the blighter.
...... ooh this is good, could end up saving me a small fortune.....thanks so far folks

Thumbs up Re: i have symptoms but no answer

    cheers everyone for the advice.
I tackled the single cylinder issue this morning.....bike out, screws and nuts off, tank off..... easy folks

Spark Plug leads off WD40 sprayed, plug leads back on start the @ up.....same problem,....

Check choke plunger thingies... all is fine, check fuel pump...good pulse/squirt of juice exiting pump, check wires from ignition all good..check spadew connectors all brill..... please no...not the carbs......lets just check all four spark plugs, spark plug tool out and fettle away getting the plugs out, back cylinder plugs ok,.... front cylinder....... eurika!!!!

Front cylinder plugs caked in soot and crap...about 2mm worth all over...hmm, quick clean up and gap check, plugs put back and.....she's alive, she's alive!!!..... not bad for an hours grief

Now...which plugs are any good to buy.....??

    Good job!
Just get the Honda OEM...you know they will work.
    DPR7EA-9 NGK

Many sparkplug threads here on what is good and what is not.
    I'll stick with Honda OEM.

Ooops. You are correct. The DPR7EA-9 NGK is an equivelent but it is rated for cold climate. Below 5 C

The DPR8EA-9 NGK is the standard plug.

The DPR9EA-9 NGK is for extended high speed riding.

    It's all about heat range.

On plug subject - I went for iridium. Fit, forget, never have to mess around trying to get the ones out from under the tank ever again

Why is that then are they guaranteed to last forever

I have seen brand new plugs fail in under 200 miles before and other's last for longer than expected

    Don't trust all the hype.........
