    Centre stand too upright

    Hi
I have a centre stand fitted - it was on the bike (RD07a) when I got it so don't know if it's a Honda one or aftermarket one

Anyhow it seems very upright when on the stand and I am not over confident when leaving it on any ground with the sightest slope - any ideas on how I could somehow "adjust it"?

    Cheers

Mine was the same and was genuine honda

There are some older posts on here about it if you do a search.

Some people talked about modding but decided to leave mine as it was

    Re: Centre stand too upright

I had this on my RD04. The problem was that the bike was so low as the previous owner was a short arse who had dropped the forks through the yokes AND had wound the rear shock right down. As a result it was b'stard to get onto the stand and it would roll off as it was so low at the front.

Make sure you're forks are set at the right height, that cured mine and check the ride height anyway.
When I grow up ..... yeah right!

Y'see, I could say "You can go fast, I can go anywhere, Africa Twin" But you buggers have 'em as well so it would sound pretty lame .... oops!

My RDo7 is the same, very difficult to get it on the stand without help and not very stable when on. I only use it for rear wheel maintenance, chain etc and just use the side stand the rest of the time. Thought about removing it and getting a paddock stand.

I have just fitted a brand new one on the zebra and have the same problem. And I have the rear jacked up on a Hagon shock.

Hold on there a minute Angelo, and leave that angle grinder on the work bench. Yeah, the AT is a reet bu**er to haul onto it's stand. (Maybe that's why Mr Honda didn't fit one as standard.) That said, a centre stand is a very, very useful item should you need to oil or adjust the chain or take the wheel out for example. If the surface you're parking on isn't dead flat, just point it uphill.

I think you will find the problem is "soft/warn" front fork springs, I intend to fit progressive springs at a later date, some of you will have pneanumatic forks try upping the pressure a bit .

    Rog.

Added. its the front that needs to be higher to lean the stand back

    Re: Centre stand too upright

Ha ha sorry mate I wasn't really going to cut it - funny enough I can get it onto stand easy - helps having 34 inch inside leg - technique and a knee behind it works a treat even loaded.

However I will investigate if there I'd a way of perhaps adjusting the stop to make it come over a bit more on the stand. Just a bit at the top would make a big difference with stand angle.

I agree how useful it is and would not be without it.

Cheers good to know we all look out for each other.
