    Tyre report - Conti Escapes

Had them for about 200 miles now, run in and I am quite impressed.

I am running a 1.65 front rim with a 90/90/21 and a 3.5 rear rim with a 140/80/17 and the profiles match evenly. The level of grip is quite high but it does break traction easily if you have a habit of whacking it down the gears a bit sharpish but the way it "chirps" is quite amusing. This makes it easy to back the bike in and looks damn good!

In a corner the front does give confidence, especially as the long travel forks soak up up most bumps and the level of grip/feedback does not diminish. The rear grips well, does not squirm, even under the ferocious power of the AT either into or out of the bend.

On the straight there is no apparent weave upto about 90 and under braking they still grip well.

I am yet to ride in the wet with these tyres but do not anticipate any problems. For a chunky tyre at £118 delivered for the pair I am extremely impressed and would happily get more and recommend them.

When I grow up ..... yeah right!

Y'see, I could say "You can go fast, I can go anywhere, Africa Twin" But you buggers have 'em as well so it would sound pretty lame .... oops!

The conti escapes are more road orientated than the TKC's. Sharrie found them a better ride rather than the TKC's. Very good handling tyres and alright on the gravelly stuff

But I agree, they are good.
