Hello,
For some time now I have been having carb trouble, and have been posting about it on another thread, (http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/africa-twin/33789-carb-overhaul-mileage-new-post.html).
In a nutshell, my carb has only 46000 km on it, and already there is freeplay on the throttle linkage (one throttle opens before the other) and hence it's impossible to synch, which is causing me problem on low revs. To my knowledge, nobody has ever "separated" the carbs, so how can there be freeplay?
Since I still have not gotten to the bottom of it, I tried asking another mechanic about his hipothesis, and he said that it could be my ARROW exhaust, since a more open pipe causes backpressure that can cause this type of issue. It sounds somewhat logical to me, especially since I have had the exhause for almost half of the life of the bike.
Has anyone (who lives in the altitude) had this problem with an aftermarket exhaust? Any pointers would help. Thanks,
Luigi
