maybe you've got short somewhere. it was happening to me when my starter relay got burnt by dying rectifier. check the rectifier, make sure it is charging ok.
check the earth terminals and battery connections. look at the 30amp fuse inside the starter realy, close to red positive wire from the battery, try moving it around a bit to see if it will cut out. it could be just coroded earth too.
