    RD07 ,93 52,000 Venom Exhaust. I was getting 34mpg just had it Dyno'd and found out it was over fuelling (Big time) All done now and had my first fill up. Town riding and got 62 mpg.

    Re: Africa Twin MPG

    In June 2003 I (purposely) road 100 miles in 55 minutes (not in the UK) and went on to reserve at 127. That was 29-mpg..My last 5 @'s have all performed equally giving 45/46-mpg consistently.A few months back,when the prices were high I spent a couple of weeks riding very gently around town and 15/20-mph or so slower on motorways.I got an impressive 60/62,but wheres the fun in that ........

    Did a run to Ipswich on the weekend and exhaust was *very* black and sooty, which leads me to suspect overfuelling (that and the very poor mileage I normally get). How does one correct that? And is it right to think the sootiness of the exhaust is due to overfuelling?

    Hiya Scooter, sorry to hear you're having problems like that. You'll probably have gathered the most likely cause is stuck choke plungers or cables. That's where I'd start looking.

    Rd07a, 2000, 55000KM, Standard filter, sprockets and exhaust. Max= 46 Mpg (Imp) at 150Kph.
    Min=58 Mpg at 110 Kph.
    Nothing extraordinary. Just in the middle. Thats good news for me.

    Yeah, cheers Stig. Figured something along those lines but have been avoiding doing it in the hope it miraculously fixed itself. Over a year and still waiting....

    RD07a...KNN Filter and im getting abt 17km per litre or 47-48mpg...I just changed my exhaust to Laser Pro Duro and is monitoring to see what the extent of improvement is. I used to have another AT and i remembered having better mileage of abt 20km per litre or abt 56mpg.
