    Re: changing gear

I sometimes do the changes without the clutch and have had no problems.
Although it may cause the chain to stretch quicker.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I'm no technial wizard by any means so i have to use common sense so what i would say is, if you didn't need to use the clutch then why is it there?

    Re: changing gear

    There's a few main dangers

1# you'll lose control/traction especially on slippery surfaces as the tension on the drive suddenly changes
2# you'll strip the clutch and/or break the chain due to the same forces causing #1
3# You could chip the teeth off the gears/dogs as you won;t give the gearbox time to synchronize

balance the revs correctly get a smooth change and it will not do too much harm, lots of people do clutchless changes, especially useful if your clutch cable is dodgy,

    Re: changing gear

If you are going to have long term problems fit a racing quick shifter - it works on the gear lever - as you start to lift it kills the engine an so no load snick into gear and when you release on comes the engine - most racers use them for up shifts - big buck though!

Adjusting clutch so biting point is closer.
Rest hand on bars and not grip.
Pull off in second and go up and down two gears using full rev range.
    Lend a Cub C90.
Don't ride if you can't focus due to pain.
Clutchless up changes better then down ones.
