    Paul-S, know what you mean about unstable in winds even without a topbox, on the A40 Elevated Section it's a fight with side winds and hard to go around the bends sometimes. Sitting at the lights by Euston Tower can be a Rocky affair too (Londoners will know what I'm on about).
    I spend most of my time in town so blustery winds not such a problem.

    I've always had top boxes on my bikes and I don't know how I've managed so long without one to be honest.

    Kjell, thanks for posting, looks like I'm now looking for a twenty year old top box on ebay in RWB for the foreseeable future.... may have to find something that will just have to do for now.
