As far as I know, the series models had the rack with the downward bended tip.
Or are there RD03s out there with the straight rack?

Also the hanger for the fotrest differs between the two, and the Logotype on the tank differs.

I have sen bike on pict 2 with the type of luggage rack that the bike on pict 1 have.
Same rack as mine has, even has the helmet lock.

Mine also has the gold tipped muffler but it's been pretty well polished out.

That second image with the rack with bend front tips, it has a different muffler than mine, maybe for a different market. Not even a heat guard on that one. Plus, ya weird graphics and Showa on the front forks.

I like the original, (MINE) best heh heh.

Could it be that the straight tip carrier was only on the very early models?
Yours is a very early production is it not Jim?

Your image with the carrier with bent front rods is the only photo I've ever seen of an RD03 with a carrier like that so I think it's not the norm. Maybe it's Swiss?

Yes mine is very early production 1988 but I think pretty normal as RD03s go.

I must take that carrier off one day soon and give it some new paint. Actually, powder coating is what it needs. Nice to keep it looking good forever.

Not much else I can give the old girl for a gift really...

I've seen the photos takene at the Milano's Show 1987, the tank logos are the definitive ones, but all the other differences remain. Never seen them on a standard production bike anyway!

Ahumm, I had to look at photos of my (Dearly missed) RD03 and yes it also have the straight front luggage carrier.

I will only write this once, but I should not have sold my RD03!
My "new" RD07A is nice and all, but the old one had a lot more race attitude, and better looks IMHO.
Do You here me RD03 owners? Hold on to your RD03s!

Yes I did, and I regret it!
I'm now owning an RD07, but although it's a nice bike, it really do not make my eyes watering with joy.

But there are 10 RD03s in Sweden, and one or two usually pops up in the classifieds every year, so I can assure you, if I find one in decent shape again, I will cash out and take it home.
