Update on MAGWA'S My project AT

Heres a few pic's of the project AT,
I still have a wish list of bits I'm looking for

the start point bashed trashed and filthy

    Note:-
The tank is not fitted as I'm still sorting the service and tuning the carbs after it has stood for over 3 yrs unstarted.
    But everything works!

    Cheers

    Magwa

It's looking great Magwa. Really clean and refreshed. Have you put new rims on it?

No I just cleaned all the black paint off with nitromoors
new tyres/ new tubes / tapes/ cleaned every single spoke
New wheel bearings/ cleaned all the disks ( rusty from standing outside!)
sprayed up the centres of the disks.
They just need a few trips up and down the road to shine them up now!

I'm slowly working thru the entire bike....
I got the bash plate shot blasted for £10
( very nice finish now and goes with the 'Romatec' chain guard I got off evil bay for £19)

It will make a nice winter Hack!

or maybe even a bit better than that when finished

well a bit of elbow grease works as you can see where I started below
( and that had a bucket of water thrown at it to make it look a little better!)

    Looking very nice indeed fella

I bought mine as a winter hack but once i cleaned her up I realised she was far too nice to take out in the winter months so I am back to square one

    keep up the good work

I was just about to say the same. I bought a 30yr old Landrover for green laning and offroad days, ended up rebuilding it so well, I haven't taken it off rd since in the last 3 yrs

I have the same feeling about the '95 @ I've just bought to save my other bike

Re: Update on MAGWA'S My project AT

    I know the feeling!

But I bought this one for no other reason the owner who is the brother of a workmate, had to get rid of it as he had sold up and was off to Thailand on emigration. ( Thai bride and all that........ Lucky B*gger!)

I intended to use the AT it for winter/ green laning but its really far to good for that ( and a bit heavy for green laning- really)

So I will finish it off and probably sell it to get a more suitable mount like an XR250/400.

Then I can go on trail days with my other mates.
Gotta order my Bagalux tank cover today ( £102)

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Latest pictures:-
I'm still trying to get a better FNS cheek panel, I'm awaiting a choke valve kit from Mr Honda ( £50.....)
And a nice Bagalux tank cover ( £102) and it will be near ready for an MOT
That will be about 3 weeks then!

    Looks really nice!

Is that bashplate painted or powdercoated? Or is it just a result of the shot blasting you mentioned having done that makes it look white?

It looks really good - if it's just the shot blasting was it blasted with any particular material to get it like that?
