    Which Tank Bag

Okay, I've spent quite a bit of time searching this forum looking to see what people have to say about tank bags and can't find anything helpful. So here's the question:

Which tank bag do you prefer/use and why?

I want something that easily fits on top of the AT tank, has a map window, easily removable but fastens securely. There's quite a few options and would appreciate input from those who use them. Thanks!

I've got a HG one which is expandable etc. Works for me in that there is a lot of space inside for the things I need quickly (passport, SLR camera etc) but I find the map window too small for Michelin maps unless you fold them into some sort of origami shape and then have to repeat every 20km in order to see where you're going.

Recommend getting one with a large / oversized map window.

I had the Baglux Dzeta .Nice and useable but seemed enormous when it was on the tank and when turning left it hit the horn button...which gave me a surprise at first and turning in either direction on full lock was uncomfortable.Too big i think...plus with the bag and tank cover abit pricey

I have the Bagster tank cover and got the small bag that fits all the special fittings - the bag is neat and looks cool. It expands too and has little pockets and what have you.

BUT, it's made out of something that's nowhere near durable enough for the job and the material just split after about a year and four - yes four - unchallenging uses. Plus the clip fittings on the tank cover snapped after the second use. Based on my experience, don't buy one of these!

I got a Baglux Dzeta with my AT when I bought it, but found that it got in the way too much. I now use a small magnetic Oxford Sports job which is pretty good.

Not the best pic but here you go...

    Hmm one like this?

I've had mine for over 3 years, still looks pretty good, I always use the "rain cap" it came with in heavy showers though.

    Re: Which Tank Bag

The HG one on page 2 is the one I have. Nice enough, but a little large with all the side pockets so when on full lock either the hooter is going or the starter motor is whirring around. Neither ideal when attempting a u-turn on a quiet French street.

If you use maps along with the GPS then the map pocket is too small, IMHO.

That does look quite like mine, doglegdon. Not sure why mine should have turned out to be made of chocolate - they must have known it was for me

The clips on the tank cover look far too flimsy to stand the weight of a tank bag with a few bits n bobs and fleece in it and that's just how it turned out for me...
