Africa Twin Carbon Kevlar Bashplates & Toolboxes

I just noticed these on German eBay.

I wonder if anybody in the U.K is producing anything similar??!!

I'm guessing that as RD07 and RD04 bashplates are the same, they will fit both, although they're only listed for RD07.

Rugged Road sell them brand new. YOu can buy the whole thing in Kevlar or just the side panels, with or without the tool boxes. These would bolt on to the aluminium centre piece.

I have the Buano screen on the zebra and it holds the whole bike together. It has proved it self indestructible so far.

And, as you know Bob, I tend to put these things to the test - in live circumstances.

Blimey, I'm a blind eedjut! I guess they must be some of the excellent Boano ones then. I couldn't even contemplate them at the moment, but they are nice.

And yes Chris, you are the only bloke I have EVER seen launch and RD04 and end up sideways with the front wheel above your head in a bush, and then just ten minutes later, turn the whole bike greasy side up with you buried in a trench beneath it! You're a one-off dude!!

For the price I'd like to see them with the mounting holes pre-drilled - I'd not be fancying taking a drill to that rather expensive peice of baked cloth in my shed.................

have you tried getting the screws out that hold the centre panels to the side panels

It proved impossible on mine, After I got home from Morocco the side panels where severley dented on each side with a good few gouges in them from the rocks - not sure how well the Kevlar Carbon would have stood up to that

Like the tool box though ideal place to store a couple of inner tubes
