    RD04 fork on RD07?

I had an accident with my '95 RD07, which resulted in bent fork, front wheel and brake discs.

I have an option to buy RD04 parts a lot cheaper then RD07, and I would like to know do they fit without any additional work.

I've tried searching forum but I can't seem to find definitive answer

Not sure but if you look at the microfiches and compare parts numbers you will know for sure.

I think that they will fit though.

    Hope you're ok.
When I grow up ..... yeah right!

Y'see, I could say "You can go fast, I can go anywhere, Africa Twin" But you buggers have 'em as well so it would sound pretty lame .... oops!

Again, check but I am almost certain they are interchangeable. The RD04 ones have drain plugs and you have to adjust the air intakes at the top.

I'm fine. Little sore all over, but generally ok.
Car changing lanes pushed me on a car coming from another direction.
Fortunately I hit it on the side, not frontal...

That idea about microfiches is great, but it took me some time to find them
I found microfiches for both RD04 and RD07 in download section of russian africatwin club.

Comparing them I found that they are mostly the same, but there is a difference in the boot of the fork, and I think it's because RD04 and RD07 have different brake calipers and mounting places on the boot are different.

Anyway I ended up buying RD04 wheel with brake discs (100% same and compatible) and RD07A fork.
RD07A fork is not adjustable as RD07 but the housing is completely same, so I hope that using parts from my old fork I can convert new one to be adjustable.

Parts should arrive by the end of the week, so I'll let you know about the development

Of course, for those who know how to read and use computer (obviously unlike me) microfiches are available at Tech Data page of this site...

    Re: RD04 fork on RD07?

Browsing xrv.org.uk today, I realized that I never posted my final experience with changing fork.

At the end it was quite simple. I took it to mechanic who replaced insides of my new (rd07a) fork with insides from my old (rd07) fork, bolted everything back together, and I've got adjustable front fork that works like charm .

Thank you everyone for your help on this matter
